20 weeks

OK so apparently keeping up with this blog with 3.0 isn't going to happen.  I'll try my best to post updates because I do like looking back on this blog about my pregnancies.

How far along: 20 weeks

Symptoms: I think I've felt a little movement here and there, but honestly not much.

How big is baby?: Baby is the size of a banana

What is baby doing?
  • She's got working taste buds.
  • Now, she's gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid each day -- that's significantly more than before.

Total weight gain: 13 lbs

Sleep: Usually have to wake up around once to use the bathroom.  Sometimes having trouble going back to sleep.

Movement: I think I've felt a little, but not much.

Milestones: Last night had the 20 week u/s. Found out I have an anterior placenta which could be why I'm not feeling much to any movement.

What I'm looking forward to: I'll have my OB appointment on Friday.  Looking forward to hearing the results of the u/s.

What is baby doing?
  • You can't feel it yet, but she's moving those arms and legs like crazy!
  • Her fingers and toes are now only slightly webbed, and her tail (yes, she had one) is gone.
  • Fun fact: your baby's taste buds are now forming.
Total weight gain: ?

Sleep: Not bad.  I'm exhausted.

Movement: No movement yet.

Milestones: Each week in 1st tri is a milestone!

How far along: 7 Weeks (well technically 7w5d but it's been a rough week!)

Symptom: Nausea has hit bad which is why I haven't been able to do my weekly update on time.  Luckily today I'm feeling a little better.

How big is baby?: Baby's the size of a Blueberry!

What is baby doing?
  • She's generating about one hundred new brain cells each minute!
  • Not only is her brain becoming more complex, but her heart is too.
  • Also important: She's developing a permanent set of kidneys
  • Her arm and leg joints are now forming.
Total weight gain: ?

Sleep: Not bad.  I'm exhausted.

Movement: No movement yet.

Milestones: Each week in 1st tri is a milestone!

Here we go once again! 6 weeks

So once again I am digging this blog out. I have trouble keeping up with both blogs and now I have a photography blog as well. While I only maintain this blog while I'm pg I like having a secret record that when I finally scrapbook about my pregnancies I can look back on this to remember.

So I'm 6 weeks pg with baby 3.0. We found out 2 weeks ago and couldn't believe it. We started TTC when DS2 turned a year. In January I got pg but it turned into a chemical pregnancy. I got one barely there BFP on 14DPO, a negative at 15DPO and my period began at 16DPO. We decided to take a couple months off and start TTC late May or June in hopes of a Spring 2013 baby. I figured with 2 active boys having a baby in warm weather would be great. I guess this little one had other plans because lo and behold I'm due Dec 5! Take a look at my chart - I thought we did a good job at TTA! We are super excited though and hope this little one sticks!

How far along: 6 weeks

Symptom: So, So lucky that not many yet. With the 2 boys I don't know how I'd keep up! A little fatigue but I try to nap when the little guy is napping and put a tv show on for DS1.

How big is baby?: Baby's the size of a Sweetpea!
What is baby doing?
  • Obviously, she's growing like crazy!
  • She's also circulating blood with her increasingly more sophisticated circulatory sytem.
  • She's about to get cuter too, since she's starting to sprout a nose, eyes, ears, chin and cheeks.
  • And she might even be wiggling her (paddle-like) hands and feet.
Total weight gain: 0 - starting out at 131.5

Sleep: Still sleeping fine. Sometimes wake up early in the morning having to pee. With a 3 year old and 18 month old I'm happy with whatever sleep I can get.

Movement: No movement yet.

Milestones: Had my first OB appointment monday.

What I'm looking forward to: In two weeks we get our first u/s!

1 week pp

The easy part - Well right now DS2 just sleeps all the time. When he's not sleeping he's nursing. It's funny because when I just had DS1 the newborn stage seemed hard. Now that I have 2 - a newborn is really easy. He nurses, sleeps and poops. I've lucked out and he's a pretty good sleeper at night. He nurses around 9pm - sleeps for 3-4 hours - nurses again around midnight - sleeps for 3 hours - nurses around 3am and then again around 5 or 6. It's really not too bad especially since he usually falls right back to sleep.

The hard part - Getting enough quality time with DS1. Nursing takes a lot of my time. During the day DS2 wants to nurse every 1 1/2 - 2 hours. DS1 loves his little brother but I think he gets jealous sometimes and he wants to cuddle too. Luckily I have a mother's helper that plays with him 2 days a week for 2 hours. Once we're able to get out and about and DS1 can get back to play dates and having fun I think it will be easier with him (being out with DS2 will be another story - that will probably be harder)

weight - down 16.5 lbs (23.5 lbs to go)

baby 2.0 is here!!

It's a BOY!! DH and I are just thrilled. He is absolutely perfect and big brother adores him. I'll have to work on a birth story soon - but here's the short of it.

Started getting contractions On Wednesday sept 15. I had my 39 week OB appointment that morning and then got a wonderful pedicure. The contractions started around 4 pm and were every 15 min apart. The continued through the night and in the morning were closer together but still not that regular. I was admitted into the hospital at 7:30 pm (Thursday) and after pushing for only 13 mintues DS2 was born early Friday morning (Sept 17) at 3:53 am - weighing 9 lbs 2 oz and 21 inches. We are so in love!

39 weeks

How far along: 39 weeks

I had my 39 week appointment today. I'm about 1 - 1 1/2 cm dilated. Cervix still long. Tomorrow I have a growth u/s to see how big baby is. Tuesday I have a NST (non stress test) and my 40 week appointment. We'll be setting up a date to induce if baby isn't here yet. However I have been having contractions for the past 4 hours about 15 minutes apart. Maybe they'll turn into something?

How big is baby?: Baby's the size of a Watermelon!

What is baby doing? Baby's brain is still developing rapidly, and his skin has taken on a paler shade thanks to a thicker layer of fat around the blood vessels. (Don't worry; he'll change color again soon after birth.) He's now able to flex his limbs, and his nails might extend past his fingertips.

Total weight gain: 39.5 lbs

Sleep: Last night was horrible- but that's because I have toddler with an ear infection.

Movement: It's slowed done but baby is still moving.

Milestones: ?

What I'm looking forward to: Meeting this baby! I'm just about ready. All my other September mom friends (there are 4 others I know IRL due in September) have had their babies.
