14 weeks and we've spilled the beans!

On Monday I took my FB off lockdown and spilled the beans using an u/s picture. My original idea was to post a picture of DS is his big brother shirt that our professional photographer took but we still haven't gotten those pictures back :( I'm so excited that our secret is finally out. I was having second thoughts about whether I should have put FB on lockdown (I had quite a few people thinking I was mad at them and just blocked them!) but luckily I did. Today I had someone post that they would have congratulated me last week but she couldn't post on my wall. Phew! We were still in the process of telling people ourselves and we didn't want her spilling the beans for us! She's only 19 and probably wasn't thinking about it.

14 weeks

Baby's now the size of a lemon
Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine, and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys, and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over her body for warmth.

Symptoms: NONE. Am I really pregnant?

Weight: +1 lb

Milestones: We spilled the beans

Looking forward to: shopping! I need to start looking at double strollers.

12 weeks!

Wow I can't believe 12 weeks is already here. 1 more week and onto 2nd tri I go!

Baby's the size of a plum

As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in critical development stage, almost all of her systems are fully formed.

Symptoms: I'm still tired but other than that feeling pretty good.

Weight: I haven't been that good and keeping track of my weight. I'm back at my start weight - maybe a little more.

Milestones: Heard the heartbeat on the doppler at our 12 week appointment. Got my maternity clothes out of storage and washed them- still not wearing them yet though.

Looking forward to: Feeling the baby move and our trip to North Carolina!

11 weeks and 12 week appointment!

We just got back from vacation so I'm behind on quite a few things! I'm now 11 weeks and just had my 12 week appointment. I scheduled it a few days early because I want to tell my family and a party on Sunday and wanted confirmation of the heartbeat on the doppler!

11 Weeks
Baby is the size of a lime
Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through it. But fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds, and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future.

My 12 week appointment went really well. The first doppler was broken but once the nurse got a working on she found the heartbeat right away. Nice and fast! On Sunday my mom and family will find out about this LO. I can't wait! Then we'll start spilling the beans to close friends.

9 weeks!

Baby's now the size of a green olive!

Your little embryo has now graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitment a doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is starting to look like...well...a baby!

Symptoms: How can I still be feeling great!? I guess I shouldn't question it. Especially since we're flying to Florida tomorrow.

Weight: +.5 lbs

Milestones: 1st u/s last week!

Looking forward to: 12 week appointment on March 5. I'll be 11 1/2 weeks and we're hoping to hear the heartbeat on the doppler. If everything goes well we'll be telling my family on March 7th at my Grandma's birthday party. Her birthday present will be a picture of DS in his big brother shirt. She LOVES being a Great-Grandma and I can't wait to see her reaction that she's going to have another great-grandchild to love.

On Monday I went in for a nurse appointment. They are using the u/s due date of Sept 20 - which is 2 days ahead of my date. DS's u/s date was also 2 days ahead of my date. I'm still going to go with the ovulation date though since I believe that is more accurate. Even the u/s tech said that u/s dating isn't 100% accurate. I was asked a whole bunch of family history information and then given packets and more packets of stuff I'll have to go through.
It's amazing how many early appointment my office gives. I've heard that many women don't even get a first appointment until close to 12 weeks. I've already had a comfirmation appointment, u/s appointment & a nurse appointment. I feel so lucky!

First ultrasound!

I just want to start off by saying everything is perfect and we saw the heartbeat :)

I can't even explain how nervous and excited I was last night and this morning to see the little bean. I had trouble falling asleep and it didn't help it was snowing and my husband had to leave early to go plowing. I woke up around 5:30 to truck noises in the driveway. One of the guys that plows for DH had come back to drop the truck off. Luckily DS slept through all of it. My appointment was at 8:10 am - which is perfect because we wake up at 6. Drank all my water around 7:30 and then off to the appointment. Didn't give me much time to wonder and wait.

We started off with a normal u/s. Saw the little one right away - so tiny! The first thing the u/s tech said was, "well there's definately a human growing in there". I wasn't able to see that heartbeat right away but the tech said it was there. Since I was bf'ing when I got pg and don't have a LMP she switched to a vaginal u/s to get an accurate date. I was charting and had my own set of dates but doc's like to see the u/s date. We got to see so much more - the little arm and leg buds. So cute! She also measured the heartbeat for us and it was 163. Nice and strong!

8 weeks

I'm so excited to be 8 weeks - especially since that means my u/s is TOMORROW!

Baby's now the size of a raspberry

Baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, lets and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

Symptoms - Still a little nauseous at time, but nothing really bad. I am so lucky to still be feeling good.

Weight - -.5

Milestone - made it to 8 weeks and still not sick!

Looking forward to - tomorrow is my u/s!!!!!

ETA - I'm really craving raspberries now. Yummm. Too bad it's snowing and I can't go to the store.

7 weeks

Baby's now the size of a blueberry
Baby's brain - both hemispheres! - is growing fast, generating about one hundred new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place.

Symptoms - I started feeling a little nauseous yesterday - but nothing too bad. I found my sea bands from when I was pg with DS and have been wearing them. I could not imagine being as sick as I was with DS and having a LO to take care of. ::knocking on wood:: hopefully this pregnancy continues to be pretty easy.

Weight - -1.5 lbs Still haven't gotten a work out video. I'm such a slacker!

Milestones - I feel like making it to 7 weeks is a milestone! That much closer to 2nd tri

Looking forward to - 1st u/s in 8 days!!
